ABOUT OUR NAME AND ORIGIN In the year 2000, inspired by the beauty of Tortoise Bamboo and Vintage Rattan I started a company with a simple goal of making beautiful, casual furniture that could be used and enjoyed for generations. My children were the inspiration for the company’s name, an acronym that incorporates both names, Kendall & Ian, thus Kenian. Born with Down Syndrome, Ian is a constant inspiration to me and everyone lucky enough to make his acquaintance. An avid sports lover and player of basketball, Ian inspires us to contribute a portion of Kenian’s profits to the Special Olympics Virginia Beach.
